Philipp Plein is among those names - he was selected to create the birthday dress for the 50th anniversary Barbie®. World Premiere of the dress was on the 4th of February at the world biggest toy fair in Nürnberg, Germany. “We love the combination of Fashion & Rock´n Roll – and what could be more Rock´n Roll than a PHILIPP PLEIN Barbie®? We feel very honored to be chosen out for designing the 50th anniversary Barbie®”, says Philipp Plein.The occasion is one of a kind, therefore it was the aim of PHILIPP PLEIN to give Barbie® a glamorous and noble appearance, underlining her timeless beauty but still making a statement for an high end fashion queen. The dress is made out of precious Jakob Schlaepfer Haute Couture fabric from Switzerland, decorated by hand with CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements
Soon the PHILIPP PLEIN Barbie® will be available as a 500 pieces limited edition, only distributed at selected high end fashion retailers worldwide. In context of the cooperation PHILIPP PLEIN also launches an exclusive PHILIPP PLEIN Barbie collection this Fall, including a leatherjacket, T-Shirt and leatherbag with complex Barbie stitching.
